ISO 21500 Project Management Standarded reaches important milestone
Twelve participating organisation from South Africa (including ProjectPro) has voted on
whether the ISO/Committee Draft 21500 should be circulated as a Draft International Standard. The result of balloting was as follows: · Yes with comments =12 organisations · No = 0 organsations · Abstain = 6 organisations
The 31 countries around the world participating in the initiative where also asked to vote on the question "Do you agree to the circulation of the Committee Draft as a Draft International Standard?" 18 Countries voted Yes with comments Austria (ASI) 2 Countries voted Yes without comments Belarus (BELST) 5 Countries voted No Australia (SA) 1 Country abstained Belgium (NBN) 5 Countries did not vote Barbados (BNSI) The content is still to be discussed by ISO/PC 236 at their 5th Plenary Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 12 to 16 July 2010. Miles Shepherd, Chairman of the ISO/PC 236 said, “We have made significant progress and are getting back to our schedule. This is due to the hard work of all our experts and I am very conscious of the efforts we have made. We all appreciate the significance of this new standard; it will not replace national standards but will put in place a framework that will allow development of relevant supporting national standards. I look forward to working with all stakeholders in the further development of this important new standard.” The target publication date for the final ISO 21500 project management standard is August 2012. |
